Our Story
Wade Wellness Services (WWS) received it’s 501(c)3 designation in February of 2023 and began to educate the community and plan for the future. In October 2023, WWS received three appointments from the Navarro County Court Judges and began to operate without any substantial funding.
Karol Wright and Pam Crawford have been invested in the safety and permanency of Navarro County Children for more than two decades. While serving in the community and court system, both professionals have encountered and observed families who were unable to meet the legal needs of the children in their care due to their socioeconomic status. Their passion for the “best interest of the child” led to an urgency to create a bridge for this gap in services.
Ms. Wright initiated the new non-profit status out of their concern for the many children, families, and mentally disabled individuals who were basically “falling through the cracks” unable to obtain permanency or resolution in the judicial system. In October 2023, the Executive Director and Program Director began taking appointments and performing services regardless of lack of payment. During the fourth quarter of 2023, a budget was prepared; a Board of Directors was chosen; funding sources were identified; financial procedures were approved by the Board of Directors; and a CPA was retained to perform monthly duties and balance sheets.
